The club's Annual Dinner, widely recognised as being one of the country's leading Burns Nights and also one of Perth's foremost social occasions, will be held in the Salutation Hotel, Perth on Saturday, January 27, 20243 at 6.30 for 7pm.

The Immortal Memory is to be proposed by Rev Alec Shuttleworth, a keen Burnsonian and renowned speaker. He is currently minister at Saline and Blairingone, and was previously minister at Tarbolton where he was also chaplain to the Bachelor's Club.

The Toast to the Lasses will be given by local poet Jim Mackintosh who has published six poetry collections and was poet to St Johnstone Football Club.

The Reply from the Lasses will be given by Dr Kylie Murray, who read English at St Andrews, and graduated with a first and the Lorimer Prize for Scottish Literature.

The entertainment will again be of the accustomed high standard, including verse, song, pipes and fiddle.

The evening will be under the chairmanship of the club president Alan Telfer.

Dress for the function is optional but the wearing of formal or Highland dress is encouraged.

Ticket prices are £38 (members and guests). Advance reservations can now be made by emailing the club secretary Elliott Boyle.
