The 28th annual Schools Festival was held in the Soutar Theatre at Perth`s A.K. Bell Library on Sunday, February 1.
Over 30 pupils from schools throughout Perthshire and Kinross entered the programme of Scots verse speaking, solo singing, accordion and fiddle playing.
In addition to the main awards, all competitors were presented with certificates of proficiency.
In what was a clean sweep for the girls, the trophy winners were as follows:

- This sculpture, presented to the club by the Friends of William Soutar Society for the best recital of a William Soutar poem, was won by Carla Rourke of Kinnoull Primary, Perth, for her atmospheric and expressive rendition of "Bawsy Broon".
- The President's Prize
- This silver salver, presented to the club by Bill Dawson [a past president of both Perth Burns Club and the Robert Burns World Federation] for outstanding performance of a work by Robert Burns in the festival, was awarded to Holly Jarvis, Dunblane Centre Burns Youth Club, for her beautiful solo singing of "John Anderson my Jo".
